Construction of section 4 of Khorramabad-Poldokhtar axis (Morani-Poldakhtar border)

Khorramabad-Poldokhtar axis as part of Ahvaz-Khorramabad transit axis, is one of the main parts of the north-south exchange corridor of Iran. The total length of Khorramabad-Poldokhtar axis is 48 km and the final lot, lot 4, in the area of Morani village to Poldokhtar city, with a length of 12 km, is the subject of this project.

Due to the special location of the project in the impassable mountainous areas of Lorestan province, the project includes the construction of 4 tunnels in the area of Morani and Babazeid villages, a tunnel in Poldokhtar district, and two major bridges.

In order to protect the route against seasonal floods caused by the rising water level of Kashkan (Karkheh) river, construction of 4000 meters long of protective walls in the vicinity of the route with the river, and in order to cross the intersection of the axis with Babazeid road, the construction of a bridge with ramps and loops are anticipated.

Renovation and improvement of damaged parts of the existing route, due to the devastating flooding of the Kashkan River in the early spring of 2019, is one of the main parts of the project.
